Role &amp; responsibilities 
Database Architecture &amp; Strategy:

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Architect, implement, and maintain highly available (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for both MySQL (InnoDB Cluster, Group Replication) and MongoDB (Replica Sets, Sharded Clusters).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Lead complex database migration projects, including version upgrades, cloud migrations (e.g., to AWS RDS/Aurora, Atlas), and database technology evaluations.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Design and enforce database standards, policies, and best practices for both SQL and NoSQL environments.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Collaborate with development teams to advise on optimal data storage solutions (relational vs. document model) and schema design. </li>
</ul>
Performance Engineering &amp; Optimization: 
<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Perform advanced performance tuning for both technologies: MySQL: Query optimization using EXPLAIN, index management, InnoDB buffer pool tuning.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">MongoDB: Query profiling using explain(), index strategy, shard key selection and optimization, working set analysis.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks related to memory, I/O, and CPU for both database platforms.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Implement and manage advanced monitoring, alerting, and trending for the entire database stack using tools like Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), MongoDB Ops Manager, Grafana, or Datadog. </li>
</ul>
Operational Excellence &amp; Automation: 
<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Develop and automate robust backup and recovery strategies:</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">MySQL: Using XtraBackup and/or native tools.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">MongoDB: Using mongodump/mongorestore, Ops Manager, or filesystem snapshots.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for database provisioning and management using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes Operators.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Establish and enforce stringent security policies for both databases, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, procedures, and runbooks. </li>
</ul>
Preferred candidate profile 
<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">5+ years of professional experience as a DBA, with significant hands-on experience in both MySQL (5.7/8.0+) and MongoDB (4.4+)</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">For MySQL: Expert knowledge of InnoDB internals, replication, performance tuning, and high-availability solutions (Group Replication, InnoDB Cluster).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">For MongoDB: Deep understanding of replication, sharding, aggregation framework, and performance diagnostics. </li>
</ul>
Must-Have Technical Skills: 
<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Proven experience implementing and supporting HA/DR setups for both technologies (MySQL Replication/Group Replication, MongoDB Replica Sets).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Expertise in backup and recovery tools (Percona XtraBackup for MySQL, Ops Manager/mongodump for MongoDB).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript for MongoDB scripts).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li style="margin-left:0px;">Proficient with Linux/Unix systems administration. </li>
</ul>

<li style="margin-left:0px;">Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).</li>
</ul>

<li>Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), especially with running stateful services.</li>
</ul>
