What You Will Do

<li>Collaborate with product managers &amp; data scientists to help define technical direction and OKRs for the Search platform team.</li>
</ul>

<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deliver a world-class end-to-end Search experience.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Champion best practices and innovative techniques for scalability, reliability, and performance optimizations</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Drive key OKRs and deliver end-to-end business outcomes for critical projects in Search</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Implement and optimize Learning-to-Rank (LTR ) models, query understanding, relevance tuning, and indexing strategies for optimal search performance.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Utilize A/B testing to evaluate and optimize search &amp; business metrics, and use data-driven insights to optimize and refine search performance and relevance continuously.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Own engineering and operational excellence for the health of our Search system, proactively driving opportunities for continuous improvements and own key operational metrics.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Help hire and mentor engineers to build an open, innovative, and operationally responsible culture.</li>
</ul>

What Are We Looking For

<ul>
<li>7-10 years overall, with 5+ years in designing and architecting large-scale Search systems for distributed and data-intensive environments.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Proficiency in search technologies like Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, Vector Search, or similar; deep knowledge of search algorithms, relevance tuning, ranking, query classification, indexing, and ML integration.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Proven skills in optimizing query performance, implementing LTR, and triaging search issues efficiently.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Strong fluency in modern object-oriented programming languages (Python, Java, Go) and experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Focus on business outcomes with a very high bar for output quality, but recognize the business benefit of 'ship small, ship fast and iterate’ vs ‘building for perfection’</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams (product managers, data scientists, front-end engineers) to deliver effective, scalable solutions.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt quickly, and innovate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.</li>
